Hi! I'm not David and there may be a better way to do it...but what I did was to click on the brown "My Account" button at the top of the page, and then on the "Profile" button on that page.

I really would like my fonts to be larger and in color like others.

I click the size font before writing - yet, nothing changes. How do you create nicer fonts?

Hi Gigi,

The default is Verdana size 2, black. If you look where it says Verdana, just use the pull down menu and select another font. You can change the size, color and font type by selecting all three windows, then typing. Just like that! But don't use Jody's own size 3, Comic Sans, dark red. That selection is hers.

:) Just kidding!

I use Safari and when I post, I see the font size ' 3 ' - color - and then the initials - B I U, etc. No matter what I do - highlight it - change color, it doesn't change. Is it because I'm using a MAC rather than windows?

Does anyone else have the same challenge

I have the same challenge using firefox, I have to use internet explorer if I want to use fancy fonts, colors or paste an Abe quote. This software doesnt like firefox.
What browser do you all use?

Hi Sherri and everybody! I use Firefox as well and do not have any of the problems mentioned.:) Hopefully when David sees this he'll have some clues, but I just wanted to mention that Firefox is probably not the culprit. I wonder if there is some difference in our settings? :?

I always type my message in the default, then highlight and change everything at once to the font I want. I've never had a problem with that... ::downstream
We will keep trying to figure this out... it IS more fun to be able to write in other than the default font, I agree! :exactly:

HMMM Thank you Jody, I will mess around with my firefox settings. Let me say I am a nurse and not a computer person. So it is probably my settings. LOL.

I am replying using Firefox now. I usually use IE. I see the same 10 fonts in both browsers. There could be a Mac/PC conflict on fonts, if so, just use IE. Otherwise, be sure your Firefox is at least version 5. To see what version you have, go to the "help" menu bar at the top of the page, and click "About Mozilla Firefox" The version number will be there. If you have an older version, just downloadthe latestversion.

There are some differences with Firefox, like the spell checker. That is only in IE., but that's all I am aware of other than the fonts look thinner in Firefox. Hope that helps!

B I U stands for Bold Italic and Underline. Select the text and click those and you should see the changes. If you don't all I can figure is that there is a Mac/Safari browser issue. Try another browser if possible.

I realize that BIU stands for bold, italic, etc. -I mentioned how my browser looks - it does not show the font style - just size - color and B, I, and underlined.

I have been highlighting my copy and changing the font size and color, but it doesn't seem to be working - perhaps, because I'm using Safari. Just curious if other MAC users have the same problem. Gigi

Okay, well I just discovered something - the MAC safari browser does not allow one to change font size as well as style. However, windows does (using my work pc - and can see how easy it is to change fonts!).

Hi.... Im on Mac and Firefox, also use Safari too.

Its just a case, as like Jody says, fiddling around with "what works".

In some set ups, you can change the font, size etc 1st and in others you need to "highlight and change" after you have written your text.

Keep playing with what works...... it can be fun working out what "set up/use activity" works for you........

Gigi,

You are not alone with the Mac/Safari issue. No matter what I do (try to preset a different size/color font before writing or highlight the text after typing it), I am forever locked into the 3/black preset.

Thanks for bringing up the issue on this thread; I was wondering if I was just more computer incompetant than I had resigned myself to being.

I suppose our wise and witty words of wisdom will just have to distinguish our replies from the masses, as we cannot express ourselves with color and boldness!

Onward!

:) Tara

Hi,
I'm experimenting on my Mac because Safari won't give me the different sizes and colors. So this may look very colorful! But what's life without color! I love it.::rainbow ::rainbow ::rainbow ::rainbow
So now I'm using Safari for my forum chats.
