Omerta is the law of silence among Sicilian Mafia families, if they kill your father you can go kill their father but you never go to the police and report it,

I once watched a movie based on a real story, this girl lost her brother-father-bf, killed by another mafia gang, then she cooperates with the police but nothing gets resolved, then she kills herself to make publicity and in the end her mother trashes her graveyard cause she broke the rule of OMERTA, the silence code and cooperated with the police
