    Goal setting, Question?

I work in the sales industry and recently our supervisor is placing more emphasis on us setting ourselves goals to achieve better results.

From an Abraham perspective, with my goal setting am I better to set myself a goal of getting 3 sales per day and get 5

or to set a goal of 5 and get 5?

I understand its all about how we feel, but if we set bigger achievable goals, are we more likely to achieve better results?

For example if I set a goal of 7 sales per day am I more likely to achieve more sales than if I had my goal of 5 sales per day?

Thanks for any clarification on this.

Abraham mentions about having slightly improved story about an issue. It's like, if you are 77 kg and you want to be far less, you say "I am around 75". It's like reaching for slightly better stage. There is one specific word which they used for that, which someone may mention in coming posts in this thread. I have noticed it in some other posts.

It's same as Abraham suggesting us to reach for slightly better-feeling place than taking a quantum leap.

For the specific issue you mentioned, if you have been achieving 5 sales per day, you can certainly intend to achieve more. Now since it depends on your industry, so I am not giving a specific number - you have to decide it. Say if 6 feels right to you and 7 feels sort of far, intend 6. If 12 feels right and 13 feels slightly bit too far, intend 12. Use your EGS for deciding that.

Remember - Easy is right! (But if a person is OOTV, he will think 3 is easier than current 5. Get into the vortex and THEN...)

I used to set goals in the past too, because "others" told me this was the right way to go. But in doing that, I learned that this is not my path. It just created the opposite of what I wanted. Because after just one bad day, it got harder to reach the goal, because the average per day would increase after that one off-day. I would feel bad, worse, worse,... and half way through the month it was a certainty I would never be able to meet the goal, which of course made me feel even worse, and worse, and...

Now I have a different approach on goal-setting. I set year-goals, and monthly goals. As long as the year goal is met, that's the real target, and so for January I set the goals so extremely low, it would be hard work not to reach them.
And when January is over, I'm already over my goal and that gives me extra energy. February is then easier, and if I'm over the February goal as well, March gets even more easy. See where I'm going with this? I set easy to reach goals and that makes me feel good, I'm on top of things, the extra energy also creates extra inspiration on the right way to go, and I don't have to worry about the goals anymore because I am now reaching them easy-breezy.

In the past, when January wasn't met, it would be a lot harder to reach the goals of all the months to come and I never met my year goal, which of course, also made me feel bad. In fact, I felt bad all year long

The key is to listen to your body while you are setting these goals. How does it make you FEEL?

If you think about a certain goal and go along with whatever fantasy comes up in your mind, ask yourself how you are feeling and do this over and over again. You'll find your very own personal goal setting tecnique if you listen to your inner guidance...

From an Abraham perspective, it's always an emotional/vibrational/alignment issue. Rather than aiming at a number, which is all about action, aim for feeling better about what you're doing. Ultimately, that's what you're reaching for in the first place -- you want to reach your goal because you believe that you'll have a good feeling response to this improved condition, where it's much more direct to simply offer a better feeling and then you've got to receive the improved condition. I know you say that you understand that it's all about how you feel, but that's just it -- you don't REALLY understand that it's all about how you feel. Let your goal to be that you want to feel better when you're at work. I know you believe that setting "bigger achievable goals" is what will get you the sort of results you're looking for, but that's really going about it the hard way. When you feel better, you'll be leveraging the power of your alignment and you'll get results that will far surpass what you believe you can achieve from where you are.

This is where the subtlety of the actual REALITY of ENERGY WORK comes in, ease123. And it takes some trust. We live in a Western culture that has been trained to row upstream, and trains its kids to row upstream, and we glorify people who do so, and criticize or ridicule those who just "go with the flow" or "let the Universe take care of it" or "just want to be happy."

This takes some trust, because when you focus on JUST FEELING GOOD, that means letting go of a lot of the pressure you put on yourself to "perform" or "achieve." Being a "recovering mega-achiever" myself, and coming from a family where even having doctorates and Cadillacs is still not quite good enough, it took me a while to get used to the idea that when I FELT GOOD - or at least BETTER -, even if that involved sitting on the couch listening to Abraham instead of working on an assignment, I was ACTUALLY GETTING MORE DONE BECAUSE I WAS LETTING MY VORTEX REALITY FILTER INTO MY PHYSICAL REALITY BIT BY BIT. Example, with my business: The LESS HARD I WORKED ON MARKETING, the MORE CLIENTS CAME. The LESS HARD I WORKED ON PRESENTING MYSELF TO THE WORLD, the better things got in my business and the "more important" my clients were. Why? Because when I'm struggling to market myself, I am in a vibration of INSECURITY, and THAT DOES NOT ATTRACT SECURE MEGA-CLIENTS. That attracts other smaller, insecure clients who feel the need to promote themselves to do well. Now, that doesn't mean sitting on my couch like a lump and feeling guilty about it, that means finding a way to sit on my couch and feel GOOD about it, or do whatever other thing makes me feel good. Choosing different thoughts about the clients I did have, soothing anxiety about money lack, appreciating my independence, etc.

And in my exercise world, which is weightlifting and hiking, it's also, always, about energy and WHERE I WANT TO BE, not WHERE I WANT TO GET AWAY FROM: When I look at my body and say "Eeek! I need to slim down!!!" and start to work from that vibration of wanting to get rid of what I do not want, I might slowly make progress, but it's hard work and I have to whip myself into doing it every time and I can easily lose my "motivation" and stay in discouragement (and thus in a body condition I do not like). But when I FIND THE FEELING PLACE OF BEING SLIM AND RIPPED AND ENERGIZED ("What would it feel like, in my body, to be the way I want to look? How easy would it be to run up these stairs? How loose would my shorts be around my waist?" - FEEL IT, really FEEL IT), and I can practice that feeling place often enough that it overrides the other vibe of not liking where I am (distracting myself from the unwanted reality, soothing myself when I feel negative emotion about it, keeping focused on what I WANT, and not what I DO NOT WANT), I am PULLED/INSPIRED into action that takes me where I want to go much, much faster. Because I'm PSYCHED to go to the gym, I get new ideas for different exercises to do, I am nudged to ask the trainer for extra guidance, I am pumped up by the music on my iPod and can do extra reps, I get guidance to get moving early in the morning, drive to great hiking places with beautiful views that will inspire me while I sweat my way up the mountainside (when, if I choose a place when I'm unaligned or feeling obligated, I might get a thunderstorm, or lose heart halfway through, or piddle around in the morning and get started too late in the day and have to change my plan....).

This is the logic of these Teachings: WHAT YOU WANT ALREADY EXISTS, YOU CREATED IT WHILE SIFTING THROUGH THE CONTRAST AND SHOOTING OFF ROCKETS OF DESIRE. And your ONLY JOB is to BE A VIBRATIONAL MATCH TO YOUR INNER BEING, WHO IS "UP THERE" WITH THAT REALITY YOU ALREADY CREATED, and when you become that vibrational match, you begin to live what you created. And that means your ONLY JOB is to FEEL GOOD, or at least BETTER, as often as you can, and train yourself to exist in that higher vibration, and things will JUST START HAPPENING, you'll be inspired, you'll have the rendezvous, you'll eat the better-adapted foods, you'll change your habits, you'll read an article on just the right investment plan.

    That's it.
