8/1 –8/2 - Example 15: My Mate Controls Me and I Feel Smothered

Yay, me! I was going to post some wise cracking response to Scenario #4 in this section, but I decided that I didn't want LOA to respond to that. Y'all know if you spend too much time pondering a reading in this section, it plays out in your experience, right?
What do I want LOA to respond to?
I do like the advice about fixating on something that does make us happy regardless of what others are doing.

"Regardless of what my partner thinks, I can think my own thoughts."
"I do not have to consider her response to my every thought.
"A big part of what I feel is because of what goes on in my own mind."
"I am free to think my own thoughts."

It is so nice to be free !!!!
That was a big part of my growing up... observing LOA's response to my dear ones' thoughts and taking THAT as Universal truth and adopting it. I carried that into my marriage, for the sake of harmony between us and NOW I'M HAPPY TO LET THAT GO!!!!!

And it's going to be very interesting to hold my own thoughts while others hold theirs and see LOA respond to us both...
I love the freedom of thinking my own thoughts!
I love the idea of practicing thoughts and disks that feel better!
I love that I'm responsible for my feeling good!
I love that Abe would talk about Esther pushing against something and Jerry walking out of the room...to tend to his own alignment...again, he's such a great example to me! I know I can get there with practice!

"So, of course, be as loving and nice to the people around you as you can be, but not because you are attempting to fill some void for them through your behavior. Be loving and nice because you are in alignment with who-you-really-are." p.139
