    Abraham and Social Media

Hey guys I was just wondering of what is Abraham's take on being active on social media. Sharing photos, comments and increasing followers. A lot of studies have shown social media to be linked to a need of validation, loneliness and depression. How does it affect your being inside the vortex ?

It all depends solely on how you feel about it- here and now.
You can do everything from ITV, or OOTV.
And you can look at everything from ITV or OOTV- that is what makes all the difference.

Itīs never about the stuff, the people, or whatever CONDITIONS.
Itīs about your approach to it.

I personally attempt to use it- as every condition!- as long I feel good, joyfully interested and enlivened by it. And as soon it feels less than good, I let it go and turn to what ever feels better- here and now.

Social media is not different than any other topic- be it food, working out, personal interactions, learning any topic, gardening, ...whatever!

    So what?
Even if thatīs true for a lot of people- maybe itīs their unique perfect path of least resistance. Just as drugs can soothe you, until you get your vibrational foothold, and in that build a helpful bridge, all of that "not perfectly approached" media may soothe, train and give wonderful perfect insights.

We came here not to avoid all problems, but really to stir it up and to come- THROUGH a lived varied, contrasting life, to our own conclusions of what we prefer, and what feels good or less than good to us- here and now, here and now.
So, it all has itīs perfect place- for some, or even many.

    Two points:

1.) Not everyone who uses social media uses it for validation
Some people use it just for the joy of sharing; for the joy of connecting with others; for the joy of expression; for the joy of giving out appreciation (eg likes / appreciative comments), and they share happily regardless of number of likes or comments they receive back - just because sharing and giving feels good! This is the more ITV, unconditional way of using social media.

2.) Sometimes conditional validation may be a crutch in moving up the EGS
Because we're all starting from from different emotional set points and different places on the EGS, sometimes being soothed by external validation can be a step along the path towards feeling better. Yes, it's conditional (and yes, it's risky because where a condition can help soothe you if everything works out, it also has the potential to have the opposite effect if the condition doesn't meet your needs), but if it's the best you can do at a point in time to try to reach for feeling better, then maybe utilising it may be a step in the right direction. (It's kinda how Abe say that if you're in powerlessness, then something like revenge can be moving up the EGS - revenge isn't exactly an end-goal vortexy feeling, but it's a step in the right direction from powerlessness on the EGS).

Having said that, basing your feelings on conditions is so risky that it may result in bouncing around the EGS as conditions change, being at the mercy of conditions - which is in some way a form of powerlessness. Far better to take the power into your own hands to move further up the EGS in a solid, secure, deliberate way. Building awareness and teaching yourself to reach for self-love from stronger, unconditional places is preferable - if you can get there from where you are. (eg connection with our inner being; doing appreciation exercises for yourself etc)

In the longer term we are at our best, strongest, most personally powerful (and in or very close to The Vortex) when we live unconditionally (not needing validation from likes, comments & followers), so that's definitely a good goal to have.

You tell us. Social media is part of this world's Contrast*. Social media, like every other particle of this universe, has aspects that are wanted (by you) and aspects which are unwanted (by you). You get to use your emotional guidance system to direct your focus so that you stay in your Vortex. It doesn't matter whether the topic of your focus is "social media" or "your money in the bank" or "the TV show in front of you" or "fluffy bunnies."

Abraham are not ones to encourage us away from the Contrast of this world because they understand that the primary intention all of us had when we decided to come into this world was to explore the Contrast that this world has to offer, including "social media." From our exploration of all of this Contrast, we knew that we would come to our own personal preferences. So, Abraham aren't ones to offer any meaningful "take" on any topic, despite some of their jokes, even "studies," which might just measure certain people's ignorance of their ability to use their emotional guidance or measure the LoA's tendency to bring to researchers what they think about.

Your "job" as a Deliberate Creator is to guide your focus Deliberately towards what you want. That's how you stay ITV.

*I've capitalized the word, Contrast, to indicate Abraham's meaning of the word--the variety of this world.

Love the idea of being unconditional. Thanks

This is another one of those burning questions for me right now. My interest in this veers not so much about increasing popularity but the ridiculous levels of criticism and intentional nastiness from people's comments.

    Anyway, great question freebee.

So, given what you know about these teachings, how do you think such comments wind up in your experience? Do they come "out of the blue"? Or do you think the Law of Attraction made a terrible mistake?
