I feel this work can be exhausting

I feel exhausted: I can no longer observe how I feel & find better feeling thoughts. I know it makes me feel better & generate momentum to feel even more better.
Now I feel exhausted from this exercise, I just want to switch my brain off, accept things the way they are. It makes me feel better than anything, I literally cannot bring my head to work at all.
I want to open the books but now even saying the ABCD is extremely difficult, it's like my brain is overloaded & only want to relax. Is there anything wrong with how I feel?

"Right/wrong" or "good/bad" are not concepts that have any meaning to your IB. They simply are not pertinent to these teachings. "You cannot get it wrong."--Abraham

However, these are concepts that you can use to exhaust yourself. Your exhaustion only ever comes from your own resistance.

Feeling better is opposite of exhausted. So, somewhere in there, you have twisted things around.

Your exhaustion is your guidance that you're not doing "this exercise" to feel better, but you've turned it into WORK. This is why Abraham often tell us to "be easy about this."

Go ahead. That's why Abraham teach us to meditate.

Using your emotional guidance system there, aren't you? Good for you.

When you think thoughts about how you "cannot" (especially how you "cannot" do this thing you want to do) and how a thing is "extremely difficult," you are creating a reality where you "cannot" and where this thing is extremely difficult.

"Relax" is really a synonym for "be easy about this," isn't it? Abraham would agree.

    Moderator's note

I've tweaked the title of your thread so that it more clearly focuses on the topic you wanted to discuss.

When you say "this exercise" do you mean doing processes and reading or do you mean paying attention to your thoughts and how you feel?

    hey practicebyignoring
one thing I remember Abe saying was 'you all make too much of this'

sometimes I think that if you analyse less, and just chill more, then sometimes that is enough

you do not have to be happy every second of the day, or always monitoring your progress or looking for improvement, as yes it can be tiring

sometimes it is more than enough to just breath fresh air and look at the clouds
sometimes it is just enough to have a hot cup of tea and put your feet up
sometimes it is just enough to flick thru a book of pretty images of the Universe
sometimes it is just enough to walk with your dog in the park

and some days that is all you can do
and some days that is enough

    and that enough is enough

    ~all is well
    (always)

    much love xxx

I still haven't read the replies because my brain is still frozen.
I mean: observe how I feel & look for best feeling thoughts

Thatīs why Abe TEACH to get off the thorny topics.
Donīt try to "fix them". Donīt cling to them in trying to move them up, when you are not JOYFULLY (!!!!!!) drawn to do that. Let go, let go, let go let go of issues- get out of your head and out of "fixing mode" and find relief & get happy in ANY WAY that works.

"Finding better thoughts" is- per definition- a VERY heady approach.
There is a time for it, but it can become a dread when you approach it from a tense stance- just like affirmations or virtual reality.

-Be more easy. Just follow the emotions. Be more simple. And THEN!

    Surrender.
    Get a massage.
    Enjoy food.
    Breathe.
    Relax into the pain.
    Give up.
    Let go.
    Sleep, sleep, sleep.
    Later, gator.
    Meditate,
sleep, sleep, sleep, DO NOT THINK.
    Eat, pray, love...
    watch funny movies...

    ...WHATEVER WORKS to feel relief.

    I give up!
    Ignore issues, on purpose.

You never have to be in a place (again), where your desire is amped
to such a significant level, that complete surrender is necessary.

    WE would surrender early on!

The first time ANY resistance comes in the way, we would say:
    I GIVE UP!
At the first little sign of it!!

WE wouldnīt be strong, and brave, we wouldnīt dig in.
We wouldnīt persevere, we would never sacrifice!
    We would just GIVE UP.

Give up, give up, give up, give up, give up.
Give up as SOON the resistance comes!
As soon as the thought comes, that feels UNCOMFORTABLE,
    say: "I give up."

Well, I certainly needed the reminder this morning to "stop working , stop trying to fix."

    Thanks, PoE.
